The best Huawei phones of the moment: What is the best Huawei?

Whether you want a flagship or a cheap one, there’s a Huawei phone for every budget. Here are the best Huawei phones.

You can no longer ignore Huawei. With increasingly sophisticated smartphones on the market, the Chinese company is having a very good opportunity to challenge Samsung, LG and Sony. In fact, it now sells more than Apple worldwide.

However, there have been problems along the way. Huawei has been included in the U.S. “list of entities”, effectively prohibiting trade between Huawei and any U.S. company. This caused Google to stop trading with Huawei, and although the new Mate 30 will be able to run Android, it won’t come with Google services pre-installed. For next year’s Huawei P40 we’ll probably see Huawei’s own Harmony operating system. These will still be good phones even without Android, and we’ve already heard details about the Kirin 990 5G processor they’ll use.

The good news is that none of the phones in this review are affected, and all current Huawei phones will continue to have access to Google security updates, apps and services.

The company has flagship devices on its P and Mate lines that are among the best smartphones on the market. The P-series is a little more dominant, while the Mates are often phablets focused on photography, but the differences are starting to become fuzzy. Luckily, we were left with great phones either way.

But a Huawei phone doesn’t have to be brand new to the market. Older P10 models are still good phones, even if the P20 range is better. And now there’s a new P30 and P30 Pro, at the top of this list. (We can expect a new Huawei Mate 30 in October 2019, and a Huawei P40 in March 2020.)

We also love the four versions of the Mate 20 series, each with different prices, designs and features.

However, today we are fans and Huawei has gone from being a network equipment provider to a coveted consumer electronics brand in a matter of years. And it’s not like he’s short of money.

The best Huawei mobiles you can buy in 2020

1. Huawei P30 Pro

The Huawei P30 Pro is the best Huawei phone you can buy right now. It’s the best phone we’ve used when it comes to photography, as the cameras are the real protagonists of the P30 Pro, as they offer a surprisingly good 5 and 10 magnification zoom, and a 50x digital zoom that allows you to zoom in unusual objects far away. Its low light capabilities are also first class.

The P30 Pro’s large 6.47-inch display can ‘only’ have Full HD+ resolution, but it’s bright, clear and colorful, providing an excellent picture for your apps and games.

There’s no need to worry when it comes to the possibility of the P30 Pro running out of power, as the battery life here is outstanding. We regularly arrive at the end of the day with 30% or more of excess cargo.

The P30 Pro not only sets a new standard for Huawei, but also sets a new standard for the entire mobile industry. Its cameras are simply amazing, the design is eye-catching and the power abundant. It’s a real flagship smartphone.

  • Fantastic cameras
  • Eye-catching design
  • Full HD ‘only’ display
  • The EMUI interface lacks polishing

2. Huawei Mate 20 Pro

The Huawei Mate 20 Pro is one of the best Huawei phones you can buy right now, offering a heady mix of design, power and performance with a few amazing features inside.

It is based on the excellent P20 and P20 Pro, offering even more display, improved triple rear cameras and an on-screen fingerprint scanner.

The Mate 20 Pro has a huge 6.39-inch display that gives you plenty of space for games and movies, and its QHD resolution and HDR10 support ensure everything looks great. However, there is a wide notch at the top of the screen.

It also features three cameras at the rear, with the P20 Pro’s excellent 40MP wide-angle lenses and 8MP telephoto lenses, but the third sensor is new. It’s an ultra-wide 16MP lens that allows you to cover even more than what’s around you in every shot.

The Mate 20 Pro is a full-featured high-end phone for an equally high price – it even has some tricks not seen anywhere else, and more powerful specs than most of its competitors.

  • Fingerprint scanner on screen
  • Large triple chambers
  • The user interface needs refinement
  • High price

3. Huawei P30

The Huawei P30 has a smaller screen than the P30 Pro, and is made up of only three rear cameras and a maximum 30x zoom, but it is still one of the best Huawei phones on the market.

With a 6.1-inch display, the P30 is a little easier to handle in the hand than its big brother, and with a full HD+ panel and plenty of color, it offers a world-class smartphone display. You can expect to get excellent battery life from the Huawei P30, with your phone often lasting a day and a half on a single charge without problems.

While the three cameras on the back aren’t as good as the P30 Pro’s, they offer an impressive photo experience with 5x, 10x and 30x zoom scan and great low-light capability.

There’s plenty of power, a handy headphone jack (something the Pro can’t boast about) and a more manageable form factor for one-handed use. And of course, it’s also a little cheaper.

  • Big Camera
  • Powerful processor
  • No wireless charging
  • The P30 Pro is superior

What is the best Huawei phone for you?

If you’re a budding photographer, Huawei phones are some of the best phones you can buy as they’re designed to be perfect for amateur photography – but they have other features that fans of the Chinese manufacturer might like.

Huawei offers smartphones from inexpensive phones like the Huawei P Smart range, to the flagship Premium Mate 20 Pro, with tickets on the road as a fan favorite, the Huawei P30 Pro. There’s also the Huawei Mate X coming out soon, so if you’re a fan of folding phones, Huawei will soon attend to your needs as well.
